In Perfect Chemistry, we see two different protagonists who both are from very different backgrounds and one compelling love story.
Alex is a tough ,macho,Latino bad boy.In order to protect his beloved mother and two younger brothers who doesn't actually know how cruel the reality is.Under the scary, macho gang facade, he is a very perceptive, intelligent, and loving person. His attentively care for his mother., bother ,paco,and of course,to Brittany,dears himself to me.I feel no fear of this guy even he is a gang member.
And also ,I really enjoy Brittany's character.She is the most popular girl in her high school and every thing seems so perfect around her.Nevertheless, has secrets.Under the beautiful ,gorgeous facade,she is in fact under tremendous stress trying to keep things together and maintain a perfect facade that was getting harder and harder to keep up.Her hypercritical mother,apathy father who sees works are much more important than family,and her younger sister,Shelly, who suffers a cancer.
This book has some parts that were hard to read, but they needed to be there, because it is a story about a young man who is surrounded by violence and crime on a daily basis. There had to be some of this in the book, or it would have lacked authenticity. Fortunately, this does not detract from the story, but helps you to see what Alex is dealing with, and to respect him for the choices he makes to have a better future.
The climax of this book will have your heart in your throat, and tears welling up in your eyes. But the way this book ends gives the reader so much hope and joy. It's truly a perfect ending to this book.
